Miss Philippines Earth 2011 Top 10 candidates chosen

The final Top 10 candidates of Miss Philippines Earth 2011 pageant were selected last night, May 21, at the Thunderbird Resort in Binangonan, Rizal.

The selection was done right after the Talent and Cultural Competition which was won by Miss Tanauan City Diane Carmela Querrer, who unfortunately failed to make it to the Final 10 cut.

We shall now see these 10 ladies competing for the Miss Philippines Earth 2011 title during the Grand Coronation Night on June 5 at the Puerto Princesa City Coliseumm, with telecast on ABS-CBN's Sunday's Best at 10PM.

Jonavi Quiray, Best in Swimsuit, Miss Philippines Earth 2011

Jonavi Raisa Quiray representing Puerto Prinsesa City, Palawan won the Best in Swimsuit award in the Miss Philippines Earth 2011.

The swimsuit competition was held Saturday night, April 30, at the Golden Sunsert Resort in Calatagan, Batangas.

A familiar name in beauty pageantry, Jonavi Quiray was already a national pageant titleholder and international pageants contestant.

Quiray was crowned Mutya ng Pilipinas International 2008 in Puerto Princesa, where the Miss Philippines Earth 2011 finals will also be held. She later competed in the Miss Tourism International 2009 pageant in Malaysia but she was unplaced.

She also competed in an international pageant in 2010, the 1st Miss ASEAN TV Charm held in Vietnam, where she was crowned winner.

Other special awards handed out during the Miss Philippines Earth 2011 swimsuit competition were:

and Gandang Ricky Reyes Award won by Miss Cebu City Murielle Adrienne Orais.

The Long Gown Competition is next, happening Saturday, May 2, 2011.

MISS PHILIPPINES EARTH PAGEANT BECOMES A REALITY COMPETITION
As announced on its official website, this year's pageant will be different from the previous ones.

Just like any reality-based competition, there will be weekly eliminations starting this Saturday, May 6, in Calapan, Mindoro.

10 candidates will be eliminated weekly until only 10 remain as final candidates during the pageant finale on June 5 in Puerto Princesa, with a live telecast still on ABS-CBN.

The elimination chuchu is so much exciting, but only 10 candidates in the coronation night is less exciting.
