Red Carpet Report: "Cowboys and Aliens" World Premiere at Comic Con

Cowboys and Aliens World Premiere:

Ana de la Reguera in Gucci Fall 2011

In total contrast to light-and-playful "The Smurfs in 3D" Premiere, was the very sexy "Cowboys and Aliens" Red Carpet which took place at Comic Con in San Diego. The best proof of that was Mexican actress Ana de la Reguera! If you speak Spanish, you know Ana from telenovelas--but for you Gringos, you might recognize her from those Kahlúa Mexican liqueur commercials, as well as for the multi-million dollar ad campaign she recently signed with Cover Girl, along Drew Barrymore and Queen Latifah. For the premiere, Ana wore a deep red and black silk chiffon dress from Gucci Fall 2011.

It's the same one that Beyoncé wore for a recent Harper's Bazaar shoot at the Ritz Hotel in Paris, seen in the above photo. Ana took quite a risk in that ensemble, but if anyone could pull it off it would be her....and well, Beyoncé. I'm sure nobody (including all the producers in the room) could take their eyes off of her. Smart girl!!

Actress Olivia Wilde looked very "prim-and-proper" and almost "Romantic Vampira" in a black Dolce & Gabbana.

Abigail Spencer wore a multi-printed strapless dress from Oscar de la Renta Fall 2011, which was shortened just a little bit for her so it would hit her in the same location it hit 5'9" Latvian model Ginta Lapina on the right.

Nina Dobrev in Zuhair Murad Resort 2011 paired with Brian Atwood Red Satin "Maniac" Heels. Love those heels...not so sure if I feel the same about the dress.

Calista Flockhart in a strapless A-line shaped black-and-white polka dotted Emporio Armani dress. I like the dress, I don't know if I am such a fan of the "fresh/no make-up" and hair look on her. And those black peep-toe pumps---nope. Not with this dress.

68th Annual Golden Globe Awards Fashion: Who Wore What? Jennifer Lopez in Zuhair Murad Spring 2011

Jennifer Lopez in ivory silk chiffon gown from Beirut-based Designer's Zuhair Murad Spring 2011 Collection.

It's HEAVEN! Give it to them Miss JLo! This white silk chiffon front-gathered gown with see-through capelet featuring gorgeous light-to-heavy sequins is SOOOO my Mom at a Caracas Embassy Party circa 1975. I have to say, Jennifer Lopez really is the ultimate DIVA on the Red Carpet. She doesn't play kids. EVERY detail is accounted for; from the white eye shadow to the sequined purse to the earrings, bracelet and nail color. And what I love most is when she gets up to do the interviews on the Red Carpet, she's all "Who me?? I'm just Jenny from the Block." PUHLEEEASE!!!! What did you guys think of this gown?

Yes kids, it's that time again for the Oscars Fashion Wraps---make sure to watch, starting tonight at 7, 8, 9 and 11 PM on the TV Guide Network--check you local listings and your cable provider (sounds so official!!!). Along with the "TV Guide Network Panel of Experts", stylist Jennifer Rade (she styles Angelina Jolie!), Lawrence Zarian, and colorist-to-the-stars Kim Vo, I joined in on the fun. This was our last Fashion Wrap of the 2008-2009 Awards Season and trust me, we ended with a Fashion Bang!
Look Familiar? Zuhair Murad's Spring 2009 Couture Gown and Christian Dior's "Junon" gown from Fall 1949

Speaking of a Fashion Bang
: As I was watching the Pre-Oscar shows last night to see what all the actresses were wearing for the Academy Awards (since of course I have to do my "homework"), an "I-Have-Seen-That-Before" image instantly came to mind. As Miley Cyrus made her Red carpet appearance in a beaded gown by Lebanese couturier Zuhair Murad, I could not help but think "Oh My GAWWWD---that dress looks JUST like a very famous Christian Dior 'Junon' gown from his Fall 1949 Collection!!!!" In fact, I sprinted off my couch and instantly retrieved one of my many Haute Couture Books, "Haute Couture: The Metropolitan Museum of Art" and went right to the page that showcased this gorgeous and iconic Dior gown. See photos above for the Zuhair Murad gown as it was shown in Paris at his Spring 2009 Couture Collection, the original Dior "Junon" gown and Miley wearing the Murad gown at the Oscars Red Carpet. Looks kind of similar, what do you think?
Watch tonight on the TV Guide Oscars Fashion Wrap with Lisa Rinna as I get to say a little bit of something about that...as well as a lot more...
Happy Awards Season!
