With a little over a month to go to the announcement of the 2009 Miss SA finalists, there are still 24 lovely ladies still in the running. 12 qualified at the Johannesburg preliminary, and 6 each in Cape Town and Durban.Former two-time finalist, Matapa Maila, is looking to join a rather exclusive club of three-time finalists when she leaves for the Sun City workshop next month. Included in the group of 24 are a host of regional pageant winners and runners-up, as well as at least two former Miss SA Teen finalists.
The Miss SA finalists will be announced in October.
PS. Whilst the rumour is that there is a Top 30, the call to successful entrants specifically stated "you have made the Top 24". In this age of "fast-tracking", I would not be surprised to see a "private selection" putting in an appearance at the workshop in October. Perhaps even a familiar name or six.
