The Sunday Times has reported that South African-born, US-based model and actress, Justine Gundelfinger, was crowned the winner of the International Queen of the Sea pageant in Peru recently. Whilst I cannot find any reports on the pageant to confirm the information, I have come across more information on this South African beauty.
Justine was born in Johannesburg and attended King David High. She has been living in the USA for at least five years, pursuing a career in modelling and acting, and apparently shares an agent with singer Alicia Keys. In addition, she is a well-known Sports Illustrated model (picture above).
Last year she represented the USA at the Exquisite Face of the Universe pageant in Accra, Ghana, and although she does not appear to have won a place in the Top 3, she is reported to have won the Exquisite Face of Europe sub-title (the USA is in Europe?). At the Reina del Carnaval Dominicano pageant in Boca Chica, Dominican Republic in February 2009, Justine was named as first runner-up in the Miss Belleza del Milenio category of the pageant.
Whilst she no longer meets the age requirement for the Miss SA pageant, this is yet another example of a local stunner that has not bothered to enter our national pageant.
