The casting director has cast the leading lady and the supporting roles players, the date, time and venue have been announced, and we're all set for the Miss SA Teen pageant later this month. Or is that the Miss SA Teen Beach Babe pageant? Some call it "progressive" and "relevant"; I call it cheap and tacky.
Whilst I am not a fan of teen pageants, is it really necessary to turn the supposedly leading national teen pageant into a beach babe contest? Add the fibre-glass rocks, pebble beach, wave machine, pre-recorded thunder, smoke-machine and raunchy spectators, and the pageant promises to be a truly classy affair.
