2011 MTV Video Music Awards: Who Wore What? Nicki Minaj

Nicki Minaj is "SERVING YOU" Harajuku at the 2011 VMA Awards: Somewhere in Tokyo, there are a BUNCH of GIRLS DYING over how AMAZEEEEING Nicki looks at the 2011 MTV VMA's!!!! She's a combination of a Popsicle, Cotton Candy, Hello Kitty on Crack, AND a Japanese girl with a "customized" surgical mask that are so popular in that country. In addition, it also looks as if she then just bumped into the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Downtown LA on her way to the awards--and remnants of the building ended up on her!! Oh, and really WHO CARES WHO or what designer she is wearing??? That's really besides the point. Is this "Just another Typical Day" for Nicki? Do we Like? Or has the shock worn thin?

Nicki Minaj Heats Up Elle May 2011 Issue

Bringing her unique look to the forefront, Nicki Minaj adorns the front page of the May 2011 issue of Elle magazine.Set to hit newsstands on April 12, the "Right Thru Me" singer posed in an array of sexy ensembles for a spread shot by photographer Terry Tsiolis.

Talking with the mag about topics such as her new song with Ludacris and desire to be a superhero, highlights from Miss Minaj's Elle interview are as follows:On her collaborative effort with Ludacris: “[I] chose to do punch lines and be comical, to show how bad I am lyrically, as opposed to how sexy I think I am.”
On her desire to be a lead character in life: “I always wanted to play with the boys. I didn’t want to be a pawn in their game or have a sidekick role. I wanted to be more of a lead character—a superhero.”
On her fashionable nature: “I tend to like booties…[pause]”—she takes a beat to clarify: no sexual meaning implied—“and really flashy shoes: totally studded out, in five colors with an insane platform.

53rd Annual Grammy Awards: Nicki Minaj in Givenchy Haute Couture Fall 2007

Nicki Minaj in Givency Haute Couture Fall 2007, 53rd Annual Grammy Awards Red Carpet

You just knew Miss Nicki Minaj was NOT showing up to the 2011 Grammy Awards in SAFE head-to-tow sequined gown...instead, she showed up in an Cheetah animal print "bubble dress", with matching leggings, boots, and "Cotton Candy"-looking hair so big I feel bad for whoever will be seating behind her...they AIN'T going to see a THANG!

From the Runway: Givenchy Haute Couture Fall 2007

The ensemble is from Givenchy Haute Couture Fall 2007 by Designer Riccardo Tisci. Yes, this look is almost four years old--but PLEASE DO NOT call it "Vintage" or I will CUT YOU!!!! I'm sure her stylist went deep--well only four years deep--into the Givenchy Haute Couture Archives--or Style.com Photo Look Boot Site and realized that Cheetah print was SCREAMING "Nicki! Order Me!!!" Also, I'm sure no one ordered it back in the day...so it just sat there lonely and looking for someone as Style Loca as Nicki to come rescue her from Archive Oblivion.

Do we like? Or is she an animal we wanna put back in her cage?

And more important, do we wanna grab a bite from her Cotton Candy-looking hair?

Nicki Minaj Steamy Shot for V Magazine

Trinidad native Nicki Minaj looks wild and sexy in the latest issue of V Magazine! Check out some excerpts from Nicki Minaj V Magazine January 2011 interview:

I just always want to do ‘me’, but ‘me’ changes every day…I would crumple up and die if I had to wake up and be the same person every day. I don’t silence those voices anymore. I just let them speak.”

“I’m an entertainer – I like to make people laugh,” The busy Barbie added. “Some will hate it and some will love it, but all will remember it. And that’s what I want: to be remembered.

Even if I’m saying something hard-core or controversial, there’s always a touch of humor, and if you don’t like it, it means I’m stirring things up inside of you.”

Nicki Minaj Covers King Magazine

She’s finishing up an uber-successful year, and it looks like Nicki Minaj is poised to begin 2011 with a big bang. The "Young Money" rapper will appear on the cover of the March/April issue of King magazine, and she’s looking mighty fine in the photo spread.

Minaj told King she’s in the market for a man, and she has a specific type of guy that she’s looking for."I look for someone who is calm, someone who is strong enough to not have to win every argument, someone who allows a woman to be her crazy self and someone with a conscience not to feel less of a man. You know, someone who is able to honor his woman but also bring out the freak in his woman... just being super aggressive when the time is right."
