Thia Megia eliminated from 'Idol 10', and it's no April Fools' Day joke!

Thia Megia has been eliminated from American Idol Season 10 on Thursday episode, March 31, 2011 (Friday in Manila, April Fools' Day).

How I wish it's just an April Fools' Day joke, but it's not.

Two 'Idol' finalists were actually elimimated last night as a result of the judges' decision to save finalist Casey Abrams from getting the boot last week.

Naima Adedapo, who usually ranked in the bottom of Idol fans' favorites list, was also eliminated along with Filipina contestant Thia Megia after being announced in the Bottom 3 with Paul McDonald for getting the lowest number of text votes this week.

It was Naima's 3rd time to be part of the Bottom 3, while it was the 2nd consecutive time for Thia. But both suffered the same fate of going home last night.

Thia and Naima will still be part of the Idol Summer Tour this coming April along with the remaining 9 finalists.

Is the number of Twitter followers a measure of how popular an American Idol finalist is?

In a way, yes, because Hailey and Naima have the least followers, and during the previous 2 weeks, they were in the Bottom 3 of the competition.

However, it's not always the case as Casey Abrams, who has the 2nd highest number of followers, had the lowest number of votes from the viewers for this week and both Hailey and Naima were not part of the Bottom 3.

Anyone of them still has equal chances of winning American Idol.

And for Thia, the youngest finalist, I hope she survives 'til the end of the competition.

Thia Megia lands Bottom 3 with Casey Abrams and Stefano Langone on 'Idol' Top 11 Results

Thia Megia was in the Bottom 3 on American Idol Season 10 Top 11 Results, as revealed on Thursday night episode (Friday morning here in Manila).

But thanks, Thia was later declared SAFE.

The other two finalists in the Bottom 3 were Stefano Langone and Casey Abrams.

It was all their first time to be in the Bottom 3, which was quite suprising.

Thia delivered great performance last Wednesday when she sang the Martha and the Vandellas song "Heatwave", while Stefano and Casey are considered favorites in the competition.

Host Ryan Seacrest announced Casey Abrams, who's been ranked #1 by Mykiru last week, as the one with the lowest number of votes for the week and should be eliminated, but the three Idol judges used their one-time "SAVE" power and let Abrams stay in the competition.

No one went home this week and that just means, two finalists will be voted off next week. And that worries me for our dear Thia.

I hope she'll reach the Top 5.

Thia Megia stays on American Idol, Karen Rodriguez gets voted off!

Fil-Am Thia Megia is still competing strong on American Idol Season 2 despite a not so good performance last Wednesday episode.

The Top 12 finalists were asked to sing a song popularized on the year they were born and she sang the 1995 hit "Colors of the Wind", an Oscar-winning song from Disney's Pocahontas and was interpreted by Vanessa Williams.

But unfortunately, the judges didn't like it much. They found it boring.

Watch a video of Thia's performance here:

Luckily though, Megia didn't end up in the Bottom 3 during the results night on Thursday.

The 3 finalists who garnered the least number of votes from the viewers were Haley Reinhart, Naima Adedapo and Karen Rodriguez.

In the end, it was Karen who got voted off.

Karen was actually Mykiru's lowest-ranked finalist last week. Check it HERE.

And for this week, here's Mykiru's new Top 8 Ranking:

1. Casey Abrams (Previous rank: #1)

2. Lauren Alaina (Previous rank: #3)

3. Scotty McCreery (Previous rank: #4)

4. Pia Toscano (Previous rank: #2)

5. James Durbin (Previous rank: #7)

6. Stefano Langone (Previous rank: #5)

7. Jacob Lusk (Previous rank: #6)

8. Haley Reinhart (Previous rank: #11th)

In the Bottom: Thia Megia, Paul McDonald and Naima Adedapo.
