Shamcey Supsup, 3rd Runner Up, Miss Universe 2011

Miss Philippines Shamcey Supsup finished 3rd Runner Up in the just-concluded Miss Universe 2011 pageant held in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

As Miss Universe 2011 3rd Runner Up, Shamcey Supsup was able to place higher than our last year's rep Venus Raj who finished 4th Runner Up.

Congrats Shamcey! The whole Philippines is so proud of you.

I believe though that she should have placed higher than 3rd Runner Up for giving an impressive answer during the final Q&A.

Last year, Venus finished 4th Runner Up only probably because of her not so impressive answer during the final Q & A, but for this year, Shamcey did so well during the interview portion and yet, a 3rd Runner Up placement is the highest she could reach in the pageant.

This just means that even if a Miss Universe candidate gives the best and most impressive answer during the final Q & A, it's not always a guarantee that she'll get the title. It's still based on to whom the judges and the Miss Universe Organization want to give the title.

But I must admit, the competition was really tough and the top winners, Angola and Ukraine, deserved their placements.

Venus Raj reigns as Hottest Babe for March 2011

It was a close fight on top between Binibining Pilipinas-Universe 2010 Maria Venus Raj and the newly-crowned Binibining Pilipinas-Universe 2011 Shamcey Supsup in Mykiru's poll for the Hottest Babes in March 2011.

Venus reigned as the hottest among the 20 girls in the poll with 13.14% of the total votes, while Shamcey came close with 12.75%.

These Top 10 ladies from our March 2011 Hottest Babes Poll will now join 90 other babes in our annual poll for the Philippines' Hottest Babes for 2011.

Venus Raj for Pizza Hut "Major Major" TVC

Venus Raj is now benefiting from her "major major" answer during the Miss Universe 2010 as it's being used in a new TV Commercial (TVC) for Pizza Hut featuring no other than but herself.

This is now the 2nd major, major TVC of Venus Raj. Her first was for "CreamSilk" conditioner.

Shamcey Supsup feels no pressure for Miss Universe 2011 pageant

Shamcey Supsup, the newly-crowned Binibinining Pilipinas-Universe 2011, is not pressured at all in representing the Philippines in the Miss Universe 2011 pageant which will be held 5 months from now in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Shamcey Supsup won the coveted title Sunday night and it was an added pressure to her that she succeeded Maria Venus Raj who, as we all know, ended the Philippines' 10-year-drought in the Miss Universe pageant when she entered the semis of Miss U 2010 and even placed 4th Runner Up.

And now, Shamcey is being pressured to continue what Venus has started in the pageant.

But the beauty-and-brain from General Santos City who's a Magna Cum Laude graduate from UP said during a press interview after the Coronation Night that she's feeling no pressure to match Venus' impressive performance in Miss Universe last year.

"I'm not pressured at all kasi I believe na...I was here for a reason and whatever my destiny will be (there), I'll just do my best, I'm just gonna give it my all,” Shamcey told the press, as reported on ABS-CBN's Bandila last night.

Shamcey is positive that it will be a fruitful year for the Philippines in Miss Universe 2011. "I'm really not expecting this, so let's just see what's in store for me," Shamcey tells showbiz news program SNN. "So I hope na it's going to be a fruitful year for Binibining Pilipinas. To all my fans, my friends, my family, my supporters, thank you very much. You have helped me to win this crown. I hope you will always be with me in my journey."

Shamcey Supsup, Bb. Pilipinas Universe 2011

Shamcey Supsup was crowned Binibining Pilipinas Universe 2011 and succeeded last year's winner Maria Venus Raj during the pageant's finals last night in Araneta.

As the new Binibining Pilipinas Universe titleholder, Shamcey Supsup will represent the Philippines in Miss Universe 2011 to be held in São Paulo, Brazil this September and hopes to duplicate what Venus achieved in the Miss Universe 2010 pageant.

Shamcey is 24 years old from General Santos City and a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Architecture from UP Diliman.

She was also the topnotcher, as in 1st placer, during the Architecture Board Exam in June 2010.

Shamcey definitely got the 3 Bs: Beauty, Body and Brain.

Pageant fans not only in the Philippines but also those from other countries have high hopes that she will do well in Miss Universe 2011.

Judge: With what worthy cause do you identify yourself and why?

Shamcey: "I think one worthy cause I can identify myself is valuing education coz I believe that education is something that cannot be taken away from you. You can have money, you can have fame, but in the end they can be taken away from you. But education will always be there to help you in your life. Thank you."

Dianne Necio, Binibining Pilipinas International 2011

Bicolana beauty Dianne Elaine Necio has finally won a Binibining Pilipinas title.

Last night, Dianne Necio won as Binibining Pilipinas-International 2011, a year after she finished 1st Runner Up during the Binibining Pilipinas 2010 pageant.

If last year she represented Iriga City, Dianne represented Polangui, Albay this year and she won.

Dianne stands 5'5 1/2" and turned 19 just last month.

A pageant veteran, she has joined 4 pageants in Bicol before joinining Binibining Pilipinas. She was Miss Tabak 2009, Miss Iriga 2009, 1st Runner Up in Miss Bicolandia 2009 and 2nd Runner Up to the late Melody Gershbach in the 2009 Mutya ng Magayon pageant.

Another pride of Bicol (Philippines' beauty capital), Dianne has successfully continued the winning streak of Bicolana beauties in Binibining Pilipinas which started when Melody won as Binibining Pilipinas International in 2009 and then Venus Raj as Binibining Pilipinas Universe 2010.

(Former "Binibini" titlists Miriam Quiambao and Precious Lara Quigaman, who happen to be Bicolanas too and were among the hosts last night, probably brought some luck to Dianne.)

Bicolana titlists usually fare well in international pageants. Melody, Venus, Miriam and Precious all entered the semis (Precious even won title) when they competed internationally. Dianne definitely should also achieve that when she competes in China this October for the Miss International 2011 pageant.

Dianne is also the girlfriend of PBB Teen Clash 2010 ex-housemate and "Mutya" actor Jovic Susim.

Judge: What is your biggest accomplishment to date? And what is your biggest goal in the next 12 months?

Dianne: "My greatest achievement was winning last year in Binibining Pilipinas as 1st Runner Up and my goal is to win in this competition one of the crowns and hopefully bring home the crown from international pageant. Thank you."

Binibining Pilipinas 2011 videos from the annual Parade of Beauties

The 40 Binibining Pilipinas 2011 candidates rode in "sports car" floats yesterday, April 3, 2011, at the Araneta Center for the annual Parade of Beauties.

Last year's Binibining Pilipinas titlists Maria Venus Raj, Krista Kleiner and Czarina Gatbonton also participated in the event.

Wearing only two-piece swimsuits and headdresses, the 2011 Binibining Pilipinas beauties waved to the crowd from their Miata floats which started at the Balay Expo and ended at the Gateway Pavillion.

Binibining Pilipinas 2011 Parade of Beauties and Pageant Primer today, April 3

Binibining Pilipinas 2011 Grand Coronation Night is happening exactly a week from now and definitely the 40 Binibining Pilipinas 2011 candidates are all set and ready to vie for the three titles at stake.

Who will be the next Bb. Pilipinas 2011 titleholders?

But before that tense-filled pageant finale which will be aired on ABS-CBN this April 10, big things are happening first today, April 3, 2011.

First is the Parade of Beauties at 4PM, which is the pageant's way of officially welcoming the Summer.

It's your chance to see the beautiful candidates in their swimsuits as they ride in festive floats and tour around the Araneta Center.

The parade starts at Balay Expo in EDSA corner Gen. MacArthur Avenue then ends at the Gateway Pavillion.

Also happening today is the telecast of the pageant primer which was taped last week at the Republiq.

The Binibining Pilipinas 2011 Road to the Crown pre-pageant primer will be airing tonight on ABS-CBN's Sunday's Best right after The Sharon Cuneta Specials.

It's hosted by Binibining Pilipinas-Universe 2010 Maria Venus Raj, TV host/reporter TJ Manotoc and his brother, model Borgy Manotoc.

Included in the primer is the National Costume Competition which was won by Candidate #2 Elizabeth Clenci.

Angel Locsin still a Folded & Hung endorser

Because of the never-ending speculations that Angel Locsin is no
longer an endorser of Folded&Hung, a new statement has been posted on Facebook by F&H to clear things up.

According to the statement, Angel is still an F&H brand ambassador.
"Hi Guys! Thank you for always supporting Folded and Hung...For the
record, Angel Locsin is still part of the family. Her Summer shoot was postponed due to her busy schedule (tv and movie shooting)."

People started to speculate that Angel is no longer endorsing the said clothing brand when Venus Raj was recently introduced as its newest endorser thru a Summer 2011 swimwear ad campaign while Angel, who had super hot swimwear pics for F&H in Summer 2010, has no new shots coming up this season.

Some are believing the rumor that Angel hasn't renewed her contract
yet with F&H while others believe that Angel's weight gain was the
reason why she has no Summer 2011 ad for this particular endorsement.

I've also read some comments on FB saying that they will no longer buy
F&H items if Angel is not anymore the endorser.

So, with that statement by F&H, hopefully the speculations will end
already and everyone's hoping now that Angel will still have her new F&H shots coming up this Summer despite busy sked.

On Twitter, Angel shared that she just had a shoot in Bangkok, Thailand and let's hope that she'll also find a time to shoot for an
F&H ad.

Some fans of Angel are worried that the "Imortal" star is no longer an endorser of Folded & Hung.

The Summer 2011 ad campaign of Sam Milby was released already last month, then Anne Curtis' ad followed and just today, Venus Raj's sexy swimwear ad has just been unveiled.

Where's Angel's Summer 2011 ad?

If you remember, last year, Angel also had uber-hot swimwear pics for Folded&Hung Summer 2010 campaign just like those of Venus.

Folded & Hung explained on Facebook that Angel hasn't done a pictorial yet for F&H Summer 2011 ad campaign because of busy schedule. "Angel was busy during the summer shoot for her TV show and movie...watch out for her though."
