This gown is 24 years old and not everyone's cup of tea, but back in 1986 it was very fashionable and comparable with the best at Miss Universe. Sandy McCormack never got to wear it at the 1986 Miss Universe pageant as South Africa was banned from the pageant at the time, but she certainly would not have looked out of place in the final line-up at the pageant had she been allowed to compete.
The same cannot be said of the official Miss SA gowns of the last few years. Perhaps the Miss SA organisers should stick their hands into their pockets and start sourcing gowns from real designers abroad. Local is not ALWAYS lekker.
